A hospital giant’s cure for its own balance-sheet
India’s largest private hospital chain is going public. Investors should check the vital signs before they check in
Manipal Health Enterprises, India’s largest private hospital network by bed capacity, will list its shares on the Bombay Stock Exchange and the National Stock Exchange after a public offering that opened for bidding on July 29th and closes on July 31st. The prospectus sets out a fresh issue of shares worth up to ₹80,000 million alongside an offer for sale of up to 21,613,834 existing shares by promoters and financial investors (p.1). Seven banks, including Kotak Mahindra, Goldman Sachs and J.P. Morgan, are running the book (p.2–3).
