Gold's moment arrives - inside a mutual fund wrapper
For the first time, commodity ETFs out-earned equity ETFs in net inflows
Passive investing had an unusually good fiscal 2026, and gold did more of the work than equities. Total passive fund AUM - index funds, gold ETFs and other ETFs combined - rose 22.42% on-year to Rs 13.73 lakh crore. That growth was driven overwhelmingly by inflows: net flows into passive funds jumped 45.42% on-year to Rs 2.07 lakh crore, from Rs 1.42 lakh crore in fiscal 2025.
